Teaching

The teaching technique of Sibylle Ott-Kohm is based on istening and responding to the student's individual skills and interests. Her class currently consists of 30 students of every age between 5 and 65. She sets a high value on technical exercises to guarantee her students a good basis for further work and fun on the instrument.

Ideas and wishes of the students referring the pieces of music find place in the units as well as the individual interests of the student on the instrument. Her class consists of prospective musicians and students, who simply love play the piano as their hobby.

She provides a wide selection of sheet music, including literature for students as well as classical pieces. Besides offering piano lessons, which usually take place once in a week, she prepares groups of young musicians for concert performances.

When teaching very young children she places great emphasis on cooperation with the parents. Mothers and fathers are welcome to attend the piano lessons and are asked to make sure, that the children spend some time on the instrument during the week.

Students are taught on a Steinway A grand piano. Every three months the class of Sibylle Ott-Kohm gets the opportunity to perform in public. Additionally, Sibylle Ott-Kohm organizes preludes exclusively for her adult students, though it is not mandatory to participate in these performances.

For children and young people, I offer only at festivals contracts with weekly lessons.

For adults who want to refresh their old knowledge again, I also offer private lessons.

The prices in the fixed contract

60 minutes weekly lessons cost 120 euros a month

45 minutes weekly lesson costs 90 euro per month

30 minutes weekly lesson costs 65 euro per month

Price for single hour

60 minutes cots 50 Euros.

During the holidays, the Berlin schools and public holidays will be no classes.

In the short term (48 hours, as the district's music schools) canceled by pupils hours is no entitlement to subsequent addition of teaching. Usually found on the gesture of goodwill an opportunity for further addition.
