Sibylle Ott-Kohm, born 1959 in Munich, received her first piano lessons at the "Hermann von Walterhausen-Seminar" in her hometown.
At the age of twelve she started studying at the Richard Strauss Konservatorium Munich under the direction of Gernot Sieber.

1977 she moved to Berlin and began attending the Unversity of Arts, where she studied Piano as a mayor subject under the direction of Prof. Dr. Lothar Broddack until 1981. In 1979 and 1980 she toured through South Africa and made important experiences in concert performance. Since 1981 she pursued further studies with music pedagogy as a mayor subject under the direction of Prof. Dr. Klaus Hellwig. She graduated in 1984. In those years she absolved Master Classes under the direction of Prof. Dr. Bruno Seidelhofer in Vienna. Within her whole study years she worked as a piano teacher.

After her graduation she started to teach piano at the music school Berlin Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, which she is still doing. Besides her employment as a piano teacher she regularly gives solo performances as well as concerts with other musicians.
In 1993 and 1994 she worked closely on György Kurtágs "Játekok" together with the composer himself in Berlin, Wien and Den Haag.
Her cooperation with Kurtág lasted over several months and included many of his music pieces.

In 2004 and 2005 she participated in the Mendelsohn Festival in Leipzig. Since 2006 she cooperates with the violinist David Klammer with whom she continuously gives performances.

A highlight in this cooperation was a concert in the well known "Spiegelsaal" at Clärchens Ballhaus Berlin in 2008. Since the beginning of 2011 she cooperates with the composer Ursula Mamlok, whose music she adores.

Since April 2016 Sibylle Ott-Kohm has a lectureship at the University of the Art Berlin (UdK), where she supervises students.
